Regina M. Matheson, PhD. serves as Associate Vice President for Academic Grants and Sponsored Programs and Professor of Sociology at St. Çï¿ûÊÓÆµ in Davenport, Iowa. She oversees administrative duties related to federal grants, research, sponsored programs, and the IRB. Dr. Matheson received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Sociology from Oklahoma State University, a Master of Science in Sociology from the University of Central Arkansas, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology from Arkansas Tech University.
Her teaching focus includes statistics, research methods, and marriage and family. Her academic areas of interest include marriage and family, organizations, women and leadership, women and politics, and labor. Prior to her role as Associate Vice President for Academic Grants and Sponsored Programs, she served as the Dean of Graduate Education and has held various leadership positions at St. Çï¿ûÊÓÆµ including: Department Chair, Faculty Chair, Chair of the Institutional Review Board, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dean of the College for Professional Studies, and Dean of Graduate and Adult Education.
Dr. Matheson’s higher education memberships include: NCURA (National Council of University Research Administrators); IOWAWHE (Iowa Network for Women in Higher Education); and MSS (Midwest Sociological Society). Regina is a 2008 University of Denver HERS alumni, a leadership program for women in higher education, and a 2017 Council of Independent College’s Senior Leadership Academy alumni. She has served as the president of the IOWAWHE, as a member of the Rotary Club of Davenport Iowa and a currently serves on the Mississippi Valley Workforce Development Board.
